COGdesign lays the foundation for neighborhood green spaces through our focused concept-phase design service, providing an essential entry point for access to green and open spaces throughout eastern Massachusetts.
Our community partners come to us with ideas for parks, playgrounds, or gardens and need support to turn their vision into reality. COG helps cultivate these ideas by connecting partners with designers and following a three-phase approach.
PHASE I
idea:Our community partner envisions a neighborhood green space and reaches out to COG.
connect:The community partner & COG begin initial discussions to explore the scope of work, community capacity, and possibilities.
Phase II
engage:COG visits the site, connects the partner with a landscape designer, and forms a design team that includes community stakeholders.
co-design:COG facilitates iterative design sessions between the community partner, designers, and stakeholders.
Phase III
present:The designers present a final concept design and receive approval from our community partner.
sustain:COG supports community partner by providing a project cost estimate and funding proposal consultation.
Post-COG
develop:COG supports partners to finalize a fully paid licensed design team to develop concept design into detailed drawings and construction documents.
construct:COG stays connected to the funding, design development, and construction phases to encourage and celebrate community’s initial input to final phase of the project.
