COGdesign regularly conducts mid-process design reviews, inviting industry experts and peers to provide feedback on COG projects. In December, landscape designer Jiayu Wu presented two conceptual designs currently in development to a group of landscape professionals and supporters of COG. The first, Norwell Church in Norwell, is a large-scale site encompassing conservation land, forest, preschool, library, arts center, and church. The project’s goal is to honor the ancestral land the church occupies, create shared community space, and offer areas for quiet reflection.
The second project, H.E.R.O. Nurturing Center in Dorchester, aims to create a neighborhood space for connection and healing from trauma through art and nature.
We were fortunate to have landscape architects Heather Hiemarck, David Jay and Liz Luc Clowes among the professionals offering thoughtful feedback on Jiayu’s work. Their comments will help inform and strengthen these community design projects. We look forward to updating you as the designs continue to evolve.
