Photo May 28, 2 09 59 PMMother Brook Art and Community Center is housed in a decommissioned elementary school in a densely populated working-class neighborhood on 3.8 acres of open space by the Charles River. It is adjacent to the Mother Brook conservation land, which features the oldest man-made canal in the US. The Center serves all segments of Dedham’s population and includes leased studio space for artists, regularly scheduled exhibits, performances, and events, indoor and outdoor  community gathering space, and a restaurant.

COGdesign project manager Karen Clay is working with COGdesign volunteers David Jay, ASLA, and Diana Simon, COG’s former Planting Brigade manager, to create a comprehensive landscape master plan for this intriguing site.
