The Mother Brook Art and Community Center is housed in a decommissioned elementary school in a densely populated working-class neighborhood. It features leased studio space for artists, exhibits, performances, and indoor and outdoor community gathering space. The property includes 3.8 acres of open space along the Charles River.
COGdesign volunteers are creating a comprehensive landscape master plan for the site. David Jay, landscape architect at Weinmayr/Jay Associates, has put together conceptual plans to make it easier and safer to reach the Charles River bank, and to walk and park at Mother Brook.
John Haven, landscape architect at Keith LeBlanc Landscape Architecture, has drafted a conceptual plan for an outdoor patio for a planned restaurant on the site.
